| The German Church, or the Church of Saint Gertrude, was founded in 1571. it started as a Guild Lounge for german merchantmen in Stockholm who where a large part of the population in the 16:th century.
"Fürchtet Gott und Ehret den König" is the church motto and means "Fear God and Revere the King".
Saint Gertrude is the patron saint for trawellers by road or by sea. She was originally a abbess of the Benedictine monastery of Nivelles, in present-day Belgium. Seh is recognised by having a hospital or church in the left hand and a abbess staff in the right.

The Pulpit
The Pulpit was given to the church as a gift in 1660 by Peter Hansen. It is made by Christoffer Behm in marble and alabaster.
The Royal Gallery
The Royal Gallery was created in 1672 and replace an earlier and less decorated from 1660. The Royal Gallery is to be used by the King and Queen when they visit the church.
The Altarpiece
The Altarpiece was designed by Han Jakob Kristler in 1641 but was not finnished until 1659. Kristler was also responsible for the large rebuild of the church between 1638 - 1641. The Altarpiece is made in wood displaying oilpaintings of the Last Supper and The Basptism. It also have some gilded statues.
